This training will help you learn the fundamentals of using the Canvas LMS (learning management system) to provide effective online support as a substitute.

Participants can expect to explore topics including:

• Getting Started in the LMS
• Monitoring Instructional Tools
• Monitoring Online Instruction
• Health and Safety Procedures
• Standards of Professional Conduct

While not intended to be a comprehensive training course in online teaching, this workshop will help you begin to build your own toolkit of strategies and practices you can use to provide effective online support. Daily substitutes will be working everyday that live instruction is provided, typically Tuesday - Friday each week. Substitutes must be willing to accept any virtual or face-to-face assignment. Substitutes will not be paid for days that they are unavailable to work or days that school is closed.
